It’s hard to put into words the experience that Blaž provided! Firstly, he is an excellent, very knowledge guide. His love of nature, adventure and his country is contagious and must be experienced if you are visiting Bled. I felt very safe and well looked after. The tour was about 5 hours and we ventured through parts of Triglav national park with some of the most beautiful autumnal landscape I’ve ever seen. We stopped at a local farm and restaurant with the option to try some typical Slovenian dishes! I can honestly say I will never forget this experience and look forward to returning 🙂

We had the greatest day with Blaz! A highlight of our time spent in Lake Bled. It was a challenging bike ride although his bikes handled the roads perfectly! The bikes were in excellent condition and easy to use! The pedal assist was nice to have on the hills! We strolled through villages and saw Triglav National park. Had a small picnic (local salmi and cheese) by a small beautiful lake. Honestly I loved this part the best because we had some great conversation with Blaz! He was full of interesting facts and taught us about the Slovenian culture. Thanks Blaz!! We also got to meet some of his best friends when we stopped for our Bled cake! Blaz is now considered our friend in Slovenia!
“… I am not normally one to rate tours as they can be very generic but this tour is a one off experience that you will not undergo if you were not with a local. …”
An absolute must for anyone visiting Slovenia. I am not normally one to rate tours as they can be very standard and generic but this tour is a one off experience that you will not undergo if you were not with a local.
Blaz took us on the most fun and incredible bike ride suited to our ability and needs. He took us to all the beautiful places that tourists do not get to so you get to experience all of the beautiful areas to yourself. We met some local people along the way, learnt about the local culture and ways, ate the local foods & drinks.
Blaz himself was a incredibly caring man who will look after you for the day. Great conversation along the route.
Thanks Blaz 🙂

DAY 1: Latisana – Gradisca d’Isonzo
This stage leaves the Friulian plain, riding through vineyards, farmland, and small villages before reaching the historic town of Gradisca d’Isonzo on the Isonzo River. The route is mostly flat and easy, with views opening toward the Collio hills in the distance.
DAY 2: Gradisca d’Isonzo – Goriška Brda
From Gradisca the terrain becomes hillier as you approach the Slovenian border. You’ll climb gently into the Collio and Goriška Brda wine regions, a patchwork of vineyards, cypress-lined ridges, and medieval hilltop villages. The ride has a Tuscan feel, with rewarding panoramas after each ascent.
DAY 3: Goriška Brda – Vipavski Križ
Crossing into the Vipava Valley, this stage blends rolling vineyard roads with small ascents and fast descents. The valley is framed by the Julian Alps to the north and the Karst plateau to the south, giving a mix of mountain and Mediterranean scenery. Vipavski Križ, a charming fortified village, makes for a picturesque overnight stop.
DAY 4: Vipavski Križ – Trieste
This is a varied stage: first crossing the Karst plateau with its rocky landscapes, caves, and dry-stone walls, then descending toward the Adriatic. The final kilometers approach Trieste dramatically, with sea views opening as you descend into the historic port city, a blend of Italian and Austro-Hungarian influences.
DAY 5: Trieste – Piran
Leaving Trieste, the route quickly joins the famous Parenzana cycle path, a former narrow-gauge railway turned bike route. You’ll follow the Adriatic coastline through tunnels, viaducts, and olive groves, passing seaside towns like Muggia, Koper, and Izola. The stage is mostly gentle, with short climbs, and finishes in Piran, a jewel of Venetian architecture right on the sea.
DAY 6: Piran – Poreč
The Parenzana continues south through Slovenian Istria into Croatia. The path alternates between coastal stretches and quiet inland farmland, with traces of the old railway still visible. You’ll roll past vineyards, stone villages, and olive groves before reaching Poreč, with its UNESCO-listed Euphrasian Basilica and lively old town by the water.
